Circular Councils: Local Authority Forum 2026

The forum also provided an essential platform for representatives from DAERA to share information on the public consultation, Rethinking Our Resources: Northern Ireland Resources and Waste Management Strategy. We would encourage you to have your say via the link https://bit.ly/4sI70Dd

Exploring Climate Science with Climate Fresk

A significant highlight of the day was the Climate Fresk workshop. This interactive, science-based session utilises 42 cards based on the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) report to map out the cause-and-effect relationships of climate change.

The Climate Fresk inspired vibrant discussions on building resilient strategies and strengthening our collective understanding of environmental challenges. Participants worked together to trace the links between human activity and environmental impact. This creative exercise encouraged everyone to think outside the box and find workable ideas for the future.

A Heartfelt Thank You

We wish to extend a huge thank you to Eamon for hosting us, providing an insightful tour, and making the entire group feel so welcome. Witnessing the fantastic reuse and repair work in action at Rostrevor Men’s Shed is truly invaluable and serves as a powerful reminder of why we do this work.

Did You Know? The Climate Fresk is a global movement. Over 1.5 million people worldwide have used this tool to bridge the gap between scientific data and collective action.
