We are thrilled to announce a truly ground-breaking initiative in Northern Ireland! Our very own Community Relations Manager, Katie, and Operations Manager, Catherine, recently had the pleasure of attending the exciting launch of Legenderry Paint by Repair & Share Foyle (RSF)!
This isn’t just any launch, RSF is now home to the FIRST paint remixing facility in Northern Ireland! This inspiring project takes its cue from the fantastic work of the Rediscovery Centre initiative in Dublin, bringing a revolutionary approach to waste reduction right here.
Collection: RSF collects unwanted, surplus paint from generous local donations and various Derry City & Strabane District Council (DCSDC) Recycling Centres.
Remixing: Using brand-new, cutting-edge equipment, the dedicated RSF team works their magic (a special shout-out to Gareth for his expertise!). They carefully remix, treat, and refine the collected paint.
Redistribution: The result is high-quality, remixed paint, packaged and ready for a new life!
This innovative process dramatically reduces paint waste destined for landfills, thanks to the essential partnership with DCSDC. It’s a huge step forward for sustainability!
