New Member Re: Make Garvagh

There is something truly magical about looking at a discarded wooden pallet, an old tin jar, or a lonely, abandoned drawer and seeing pure potential. That is exactly what the team at Green Re:Make Garvagh does every single day, and we are very glad to have them as a new Northern Ireland Reuse Network (NIRN) Member.

Our Community Network Manager, Katie O’Donnell, recently caught up with the brilliant minds behind the venture, Nonglak and David, to celebrate their arrival into our growing network.

A Hands-On Hub for Circular Innovation

Need something repurposed? Green Re:Make are undeniably the people for the job. More than just an upcycling workshop, they operate as a community-led hub based in a vibrant shared space. Their entire ethos is deeply rooted in circular economy values: ensuring our planet’s precious resources are respected, valued, and kept out of landfills.

By bringing people together in a relaxed, hands-on environment, Green Re:Make focuses on:

  • Creative Repair & Upcycling: Turning everyday materials, old textiles, and discarded furniture into beautiful, useful, and meaningful new products.
  • Skill-Sharing Workshops: Hosting interactive DIY, repair, and sewing sessions that empower locals with practical, sustainable life skills.
  • Community & Collaboration: Building a welcoming space that encourages hands-on learning, social connection, and environmental stewardship.

No challenge is too big or too quirky for them. Whether they are transforming rugged pallets into sleek fixtures or giving household items a stunning second lease on life, their creativity knows no bounds.

“I had such a wonderful time meeting with Nonglak and David,” said Katie O’Donnell. “With so many fantastic ideas already in motion, I honestly can’t wait to see what inspiring projects they tackle next. Thank you both so much for having me, we are absolutely delighted to have you onboard as part of our network”.

Better Together

Green Re:Make Garvagh perfectly embodies what NIRN is all about: community, sustainability, and local innovation. By joining forces, we are strengthening the collective effort to build a waste-free Northern Ireland where creativity thrives.

Please join us in giving Nonglak, David, and the entire Green Re:Make team a massive NIRN welcome.
