Introducing Orlaith Quinn – NIRNs’ Environmental Education Officer.

Orlaith has joined our team and will be running the Circular Schools, Zero Waste Education programme to empower NI school children with practical knowledge and skills to significantly reduce waste, encouraging sustainable habits including reducing, reusing, and repairing.Orlaith is excited to get started with the programme and says, “Overall the goal of our Circular Schools programme is to help children understand the importance of making smart choices to prevent waste before it happens in a fun and interactive way”. The programme will use hands-on activities, relatable examples, and a clear, progressive structure to build lasting habits.

Orlaith brings over two years’ waste management experience from Mid Ulster District Council. She has been recognised in the Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful 30 Under 30 Climate Change Makers cohort for 2024/25 and she also volunteers with Special Olympics Ireland.
