Activities in the Armagh Banbridge Craigavon Borough Council Area

Activity:  Sewing/Mending with Angeline Murphy (ABC Staff Only)

To promote repair and upcycling, ABC has invited Angeline Murphy to lead a special lunchtime session for council colleagues. This interactive event will combine team-building exercises with hands-on textile repair activities, allowing participants to learn or refresh their skills while working together to complete repair challenges. It’s a great opportunity to build collaboration, develop practical skills, and contribute to a more sustainable future

Where: Banbridge Civic Building

When: Friday 7 March 12 – 2pm

Booking: Private event – ABC Staff Only

Activity: Repair and Rewear

Vincent’s Portadown is fully embracing Repair Week, bringing the community together to celebrate sustainability and the power of repair! The store is encouraging customers to get involved and rethink how they view pre-loved items. In addition, the store is carefully setting aside donated items that need a little TLC, using them as real life examples to demonstrate just how much can be saved, restored and given a new lease of life. Whether it’s a torn garment, or a missing button, this initiative showcases the simple yet impactful ways we can extend the life of our belongings and reduce waste.

Where: Vincent’s, Units 2-3 Mayfair BC, 193-205 Garvaghy Rd, Portadown, BT72 1EH

When: Monday 3 March, 12 – 3pm

Cost: Free

Activity: Learn about volunteering opportunities with Dromore Repair Café

Learn more about volunteering at the Repair Café in Dromore. Fixers will be at Dromore Town Hall to chat with potential volunteers.
They are looking for a mixture of fixers (electrical, mechanical, furniture, household goods, bikes, textiles and clothes) and folk to staff the kitchen, café and reception. There are jobs for everyone at a repair café, so come and lend your skills and connect with others in the community

Where: Dromore Town Hall, 38 Market Square, Dromore, BT25 1AW
