Behaviour change for Net Zero: mobilising society to accelerate action

7 November 2022 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm

Join the Institute for Policy Research (IPR) and the Centre for Climate Change & Social Transformations (CAST) for this panel event.

The evidence is clear. We are not on track to tackle climate change, and technology alone cannot keep back the worst consequences of the climate crisis. The progress we have made so far to cut emissions has largely been down to shifting energy supply towards lower carbon energy sources including renewables. What’s now needed is to radically reduce demand and this involves changes to the ways that we live, as well as technological change. Indeed, the IPCC now confirms that profound societal change will be required to meet our climate as well as other sustainability goals.

Join the Centre for Climate Change & Social Transformations (CAST) and the Institute for Policy Research (IPR) as we reflect on the highly anticipated House of Lords report: In our hands: behaviour change for climate and environmental goals and what it means for government, business and civil society. What does the evidence say on what works to change behaviour to reach net zero? What sort of policy interventions will be needed? And how can business and civil society organisations help create the societal transformation needed?
