With this online event, Repair Cafe Belfast’s skilled volunteers have been helping people mend their clothes for four years. Now Stephanie from our sewing team will share some basic skills so you can mend more yourself!

Learn how to sew on a button, fix a hem and deal with patches. Perfect for the complete beginner, with these skills, you can repair and prolong the life of your favourite clothes, save money, reduce waste and your environmental impact.

What to bring so you can sew along: a needle, thread, a button or two, three flat bits of fabric – any colour, pattern or scrap will do, as long as they are about the size of a book – like a clean rag, old tea towel or t-shirt.
