FareShare NI is a food redistribution project which tackles food waste and food poverty by identifying fresh, frozen and ambient food surpluses from within the food industry and redistributing it to charities across Northern Ireland which are working to alleviate food poverty.
By encouraging key stakeholders including suppliers, charities and corporate partners to rethink waste, FareShare NI is preventing over 380 tonnes of high quality ‘in-date’ food from ending up in landfill, thus preventing 1,500 tonnes of CO2 emissions and creating 900,000 meals for vulnerable people every year.
